Walking into a new clinic for your skin can feel vulnerable, and we never take that lightly.
Whether this is your very first aesthetic treatment ever or you’re simply new to Skin + Aesthetics, here’s exactly what to expect, so you can arrive relaxed and leave loving your skin.
We are intentionally not a “cattle-call” clinic. Your visit is private, unrushed, and one-on-one. You’ll never be a number here.
Schedule online through our patient portal, or call or message us if you’d rather talk it through first.
Not sure which treatment you need? Not a problem! Simply schedule a consultation and we’ll figure it out together.
After booking, you’ll complete a few forms in your patient portal so we fully understand your history and goals before you ever arrive.
(This is also where your before- and after-care instructions will live, so keep an eye on your portal and email.)
Not tech-savvy? No issue here; we're happy to help guide you through it all!
Every patient is personally assessed and medically cleared by our nurse practitioner, Blakelee, before any treatment, regardless of who you're scheduled with.
Because your safety always comes first, this includes ruling out anything that should be addressed before we proceed — something a true aesthetic dermatology approach makes non-negotiable.
Per Tennessee regulations, Blakelee works collaboratively with her supervising physician, Dr. Gilbert, who is always available for consultation and is in the clinic on a routine basis.
This is where we differ most. Instead of a one-size-fits-all menu, we listen to your concerns and goals, walk you through your options in plain language, and build a plan that fits your face, your timeline, and your budget.
You’ll never be pressured or upsold — in a cash-pay field, we choose patients over profit. There's no obligation here; just arming you with education on what treatments are best for you.
Depending on your goals, we may treat the same day or map out a longer-term plan. Either way, you’ll leave knowing exactly what’s next and why.
Your before- and after-care instructions are delivered to your patient portal and email — please read them before your appointment. We’re always just a message or call away if questions come up afterward.
All injectable treatments are performed by our dual board-certified nurse practitioner with over ten years of experience in dermatology and plastic surgery, who is a national trainer.
We’d rather teach you than sell to you.
You’ll understand every recommendation we make.
Our trained, hypoallergenic therapy dog is available by request to help ease nerves. He stays out of all treatment areas, but is available for non-invasive procedures if you’d like his company.
Your visit is confidential and unhurried, in a setting designed to feel safe and relaxing.
We want your visit to go as smoothly as possible.
To help us with this, please:
1) Arrive with a clean face if possible.
If unable, there is a full variety of products to cleanse and prep the skin in our patient bathroom.
2) Bring a list of your current medications, supplements, and skincare products. This is also included in your patient paperwork in your portal. We kindly ask that all are disclosed so that we can keep all patients safe.
3) Bring any questions — no question is too big or small.
4) If you’re considering injectables, avoid alcohol and blood-thinning supplements for a day or two beforehand when possible to reduce bruising (we’ll confirm specifics for your plan).
