Summer in Tennessee means three things for your skin: travel, heat, and a lot of sun. So whether you’ve got a beach trip, a wedding, or just want to feel confident in the humidity, here’s how I help my patients glow all season and protect what they’ve got.
The secret to looking great in vacation photos isn’t a filter; it’s a little prep. My favorite pre-trip treatments give you radiant skin with no recovery time, so you can glow the same week:
Book these about a week before your trip or event for the most radiant result.
Here’s one most people don’t know: if summer heat leaves you self-conscious about underarm sweat, Botox isn’t just for wrinkles. Tox is FDA-approved to treat excessive underarm sweating (a condition called hyperhidrosis) by temporarily calming the sweat glands and the results often last several months, easily carrying you through summer.
It’s quick, it’s discreet, and for the right patient it’s genuinely life-changing in the confidence department. If sweat is something you dread every summer, ask us about it.
None of the above matters if you skip this part. Sun is the #1 cause of premature aging and skin cancer, so sunscreen is the single most important thing you can do for your skin… period. My simple rules:
We carry medical-grade sunscreens we genuinely love (including tinted options) in the shop and yes, “expensive sunscreen” really can be better formulated and more wearable, which means you’ll actually use it.
If sun damage is already showing (brown spots, uneven tone) you might be tempted to jump on a laser now. My advice: protect this summer, and let’s plan your pigment treatments for fall. Light-based lasers work best (and safest) on skin that isn’t sun-exposed, so fall is the ideal window. In the meantime, a HydraFacial and the right skincare keep you glowing.
Summer skin is about enjoying the season while protecting your future self. Get the no-downtime glow, fix the sweat that bugs you, and never skip the SPF. That’s the whole game.

What’s the best treatment before a trip? A HydraFacial about a week out is the go-to for instant, no-downtime glow and add dermaplaning or a lash lift for extra polish.
Does Botox really stop sweating? Yes, it’s FDA-approved for excessive underarm sweating and typically lasts several months by calming the sweat glands.
What SPF should I use? Broad-spectrum SPF 30+, reapplied every two hours and after swimming or sweating. A tinted mineral formula is great for daily wear.
Can I get a laser treatment in summer? Some (like ClearSilk) are fine year-round, but pigment-focused lasers are safest in fall when your skin isn’t sun-exposed. Don’t worry, we’ll guide you.
