For our third Skincare Spotlight, I want to talk about the world of Epicutis Skincare, where science meets beauty in a harmonious symphony of advanced formulations and cutting-edge technology. While at just a glance Epicutis might seem just as a luxurious brand with gorgeous product packaging (which they do also have), they’re actually so much more! With a passion for innovation and a commitment to excellence, Epicutis has emerged as a trailblazing brand in the skincare industry. As we discuss frequently in the clinic, much in the skincare world can be gimmicky, so it takes a lot to “wow” me, but Epicutis did just that. Read on to see why I had to have Epicutis in my clinic!
At the heart of Epicutis lies a profound dedication to scientific research and evidence-based skincare. I feel like say this month after month in my blogs, but research and evidence are a necessity for me and Epicutis was able to deliver on just that. The brand’s name itself, derived from “epidermis” and “cutis” (which means “skin” in Latin), signifies their focus on nurturing the skin’s outermost layer, which is essential for a healthy and radiant complexion. I often say that Skin and Aesthetics has a focus on skin health and Epicutis, too, has the same focus.
While I will dive more into the technology behind their products in a later Skincare Spotlight post, Epicutis was born in a Princeton research lab after frustration related to the lack of skincare brands that displayed transparency, clinical data, clean formulations, and responsible development. Their products use sophisticated techniques to ensure their formulations penetrate the skin’s deeper layers, which translates into achieving maximum benefits of their products, making them more than just surface-level treatments.
Epicutis embraces the gifts of nature and the latest advancements in skincare technology. Their product formulations often harness the power of natural ingredients alongside innovative bioactive compounds with cutting-edge technology. By combining tried-and-true botanical extracts with scientifically proven actives, Epicutis products can effectively address various skincare concerns, such as aging, hydration, and environmental damage.
Epicutis understands that each individual’s skin is unique and requires personalized care. As such, their diverse product range offers targeted solutions for different skin types and concerns. Whether you have sensitive, oily, dry, or mature skin, Epicutis has a solution tailored to your specific needs, ensuring maximum effectiveness and optimal results.
When I first looked at their portfolio of products, I was a bit confused by the limited number of products they offered. In total, they offer five products, so how can they say they have something for everyone? However, what is really neat about Epicutis is that while they do have a small number of products in comparison to other skincare brands, these are able to be mixed in a way that is a specialized solution to address your specific needs, whether that be dehydration, aging, irritation, or even acne. This targeted approach ensures that customers can find products that suit their unique skin requirements.
Epicutis prioritizes clinical trials and studies to validate the efficacy of its products. By investing in scientific research, the brand ensures that its claims are not mere marketing hype (as some other skincare brands are guilty of), but rather concrete results backed by data and real-life testimonials. This commitment to transparency reinforces consumer trust and confidence in the brand.
I laugh a lot in the clinic about how I have unfortunately turned a bit cynical of skincare as a whole, so it makes sense that I would align with a company that was also burnt out by brands touting so-called “hero ingredients” with vague claims of being natural, clinical, clean, green, safe. The truth is that the American skincare industry is largely unregulated, which is something that Epicutis also recognizes and strives to be set apart from (just as Skin and Aesthetics is). Epicutis is committed to environmental responsibility and ethical practices. From sourcing eco-friendly ingredients to using recyclable packaging, the brand prioritizes sustainability. Their cruelty-free policies further appeal to consumers who value ethical choices in their skincare purchases.
If this wasn’t enough, Epicutis also values its customers and strives to build long-lasting relationships. The brand actively seeks feedback, listens to customer needs, and continuously improves its offerings to meet evolving skincare demands. Skin and Aesthetics added Epicutis shortly after opening and this has been very evident, as the brand has been involved in continuing to ensure our patients are loving the products and have continually sought feedback on ways they can improve.
Epicutis sets itself apart from other skincare brands through its science-driven approach, innovative technology, targeted solutions, and commitment to clinical efficacy. While I will dive deeper into my personal experience with Epicutis and how my own skin was transformed by it in a future post, I will keep it short and simply say that Epicutis is a brand I personally will not live without. With dermatologist-approved products, customizable skincare options, and a focus on sustainability, Epicutis creates a well-rounded experience for our patients seeking effective and ethical skincare solutions.
The great thing about owning your own clinic is the privilege of selecting what product lines will be affiliated with your own brand. While it would likely make more sense to only select brands with widespread recognition, I’ve never claimed to be a business expert in any way, so instead I continue to select brands that align with my own values– honesty and efficacy. Epicutis definitely aligned with those values and I consider if a huge asset in the clinic. If healthy, radiant skin is your goal, stop in and let’s chat further about Epicutis!
