It may seem hard to believe that we are talking about laser hair removal since our weather in Cookeville, Tennessee recently has been all over the place, but soon enough, summertime will be here and legs will be out. While many of us look forward to warmer weather, most women specifically do not look forward to being back in leg-shaving season. If you fall into this category, I have great news for you– Skin + Aesthetics has you covered!
Laser hair removal is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures in the US, and for good reason. If you’re tired of waxing, shaving, or tweezing, you may want to consider laser hair removal. While many medspas offer this, at S+A, we offer Diolaze laser hair removal to the Upper Cumberland. Curious and want to know more? Let’s chat.
Diolaze is one of many laser treatments offered at Skin + Aesthetics. It uses a diode laser beam to direct high-energy light through the skin and toward melanin (a dark skin pigment). This melanin, or pigment, is located at the roots of hair follicles. The light emitted from the laser heats up melanin to damage the follicles and prevent future hair growth. As always, you know I will give you the good, the bad, and the ugly of every treatment, so this is where I will make sure we keep things honest and include that after some time has passed, new hair follicles can form and grow to replace those that have died with laser hair removal; therefore, future Diolaze treatments may be needed to destroy new hair follicles. However, most patients are happy with their treatment results and those that do need future treatments are generally just needing a touch-up.
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved and cleared Diolaze by InMode as a safe hair removal treatment that ensures a short treatment time. The laser has two technologies that are combined to create efficient results for you:
Diolaze laser hair removal treatment is designed to remove hairs evenly and quickly. The gold-standard wavelength technology gives excellent results and is able to deliver those results quickly because Diolaze offers a larger treatment spot size than other laser devices. The efficiency of the InMode Diolaze is also shown through the fact that patients need fewer sessions to get the same results as with other laser hair removal options
This technology allows the device to treat different skin types quickly and relatively pain-free. Patients who undergo Diolaze treatments report little to no pain due to its Triple Cooling System. Even though Diolaze burns the hair follicles, its cooling mechanism prevents patients from feeling any pain or burning sensation.
Some other options are either too painful, take too long, are too expensive, are not permanent, and are unsafe. This is why InMode Diolaze is the option for you and why we decided to bring it to Skin + Aesthetics!
When you start looking into laser treatment options in middle Tennessee, you’ll quickly realize that the technology isn’t well-suited to everyone. As we talked about, the laser targets pigment, so treatments are most effective on clients who have lighter skin with darker hair because the technology is better able to differentiate between the pigmented cells in the skin and pigmented cells in the hair. Because of this, it can be difficult to find an effective laser treatment for people who have dark skin and dark hair. For many of people in this category, Diolaze offers a solution, as it is highly effective on people with skin type IV and below.
Beyond just leg hair, Diolaze laser hair removal technology can be used on most parts of the body where unwanted hair appears. It can safely remove both facial hair and body hair. The most common areas for treatment include the legs, arms, chest, back, bikini area, stomach, shoulders, neck, chin, and sideburns.
To ensure that you’re a good candidate for laser hair removal, S+A requires a consultation that can be conducted in person or virtually. We will discuss all parts of pre and post-treatment care, but in general, preparing for your Diolaze appointment requires two main rules. For at least six weeks prior to undergoing laser hair removal treatment, it is critical that you avoid waxing and plucking. These forms of hair removal remove the hair at the root, which is needed for laser hair removal to work properly. Shaving prior to treatment is okay. Second, it is equally as important that you avoid sun exposure for at least six weeks before and after treatment. Sun exposure can make laser hair removal less effective and can increase the risk of complications following treatment.
Hair grows in three cycles. Unfortunately, I can’t make all of your hair follicles get their act together and be in the same cycle altogether. Because hair follicles are at different stages of growth, it can take three to six treatments to achieve desired results. This is why we only sell laser hair removal treatment in packages, as we will do as many treatments as needed to achieve your hair removal. Laser hair removal works best on hair follicles that are more mature. With each treatment, you should see a noticeable reduction in hair growth. Individual results will vary depending on factors such as age, skin, and hair quality.
